Farm Management, 100% Extension.
Responsible for farm/ranch management programming in the northwestern
9 counties. Areas of teaching include: financial planning, cashflows, income
statements in one on one as well as group settings; estate planning and
inter generational transfers; leasing agreements on rangeland and cropland
as well as livestock lease agreements; computerized records management
and budgeting; training ranchers as well as county staff in FINPACK. Currently
Farm Service Agency borrower training in Financial Foundations-5 day workshops
throughout western South Dakota have helped nearly 80 young and beginning
ranchers in financial management.
